Panelists include Susan Ashmore (Emory University), Ali Sewell (Emory University), and Danielle L. Wiggins (Caltech). It will be moderated by Camille Goldmon (Emory University).“Legacies of Reconstruction” is the second of three panels that will explore the history and significance of Reconstruction. Panelists will discuss the failures, successes, and issues arising out of Reconstruction that continue to shape our present time. The program will last an hour, with the last 15 minutes reserved for questions.As Pellom McDaniels wrote, “In many ways, the questions and events of Reconstruction are the questions of today.” Join us as we explore how the Black reconstruction archive can help us understand what it means to be an American in 2020.The Lift Every Voice Seminar Series is part of the Lifting Every Voice Tribute Series in honor of Dr. Pellom McDaniels, III.
