Here's what director Gabrielle Bodet has to say about her production of this Shakespearean classic: Much Ado About Nothing is a classic story of love and deception. The story begins with a prince and his officers visiting the house of an old friend after a war and follows their shenanigans with the maidens of the house. Inspired by cinematography techniques and interactive theater performances, I want to expand both actors’ and audiences’ perception of theater and its potential by creating an immersive experience of the play. Stepping into the world of Much Ado About Nothing will not only bring the humor and fun to life, but will also confront the underlying issue of gender-stereotypes in an up-close and present way. The play will be set in the roaring ‘20s, as it signifies a time of change for women’s independence while also fitting the spirited banter of the story. In keeping with the play's time period, we strongly encourage you to attend the play dressed in your finest 1920s garb! + Campus Life Pavilion Campus Events
