As a forum for the study of artists’ books, JAB published critical and theoretical articles, reviewed artists' books and exhibitions, and commented on conferences and other book art-related activities. Established in 1994, JAB has regularly showcased creative work in the form of artists' statements and artist-designed pages and covers. The Journal of Artists’ Books was created and first published by Brad Freeman to offer a forum for critical discussion about artists’ books. Already a well-established book artist, Brad wanted to find new ways to engage with the artists’ book community and to encourage much-needed critical writing in the field. Please join us for a free conversation with Brad as he discusses his experiences as a book artist, the printer who produced the final artist’s book from Ruth Laxson and Nexus Press, and the founding editor-in-chief of JAB. A reception will follow this presentation. + Jones Room, Woodruff Library Level 3 Campus Events
