Applicants must have demonstrated creativity, originality, and initiative, along with a commitment to and capacity for accomplishment that has required drive and sustained effort in one or more aspects of the applicant’s life. The Soros Foundation looks for promise of continued significant contributions that will mark the applicant as a leading and influential figure within the applicant’s fields of endeavor. Applicants must also demonstrate a commitment (broadly defined) to the values expressed in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The fellowship provides up to $90,000 toward two years of graduate education.
