AntiquiTEA Ellen Archie and Kelin Michael, Andrew W. Mellon Fellows in Object-Centered Curatorial Research, will present on their recent projects on objects in the collection. Ellen Archie will discuss her research on a pair of ancient Greek bronze mule fulcra (furniture attachments) from a bed, including production techniques and collecting history as well as the trade in objects like these between Greece and Rome. Kelin Michael will discuss a group of Migration Period objects of personal adornment in the collection. She will discuss the methods of technical analysis she used to identify materials and contextualize the objects in terms of their geographic and cultural origins.
