Live Painting with artist Abhishek Singh From January 14 through 22, Abhishek Singh will be in residence, creating a painting in various locations around the city that will take its place alongside his other works in the Carlos Museum's exhibition Transcendent Deities of India: The Everyday Occurrence of the Divine when it is complete. The subject of the “live painting” is the multiple forms of the elephant-headed god Ganesha. Singh’s representations of the deity are informed not only by his deep knowledge of Indian culture and religion but also by his understanding of the essential role the majestic animals play in the ecosystem of India. Come and watch Abhishek work, ask questions about his process and imagery, and be moved by his technical facility and the immediacy of his images.  Click here for a complete listing of live-painting times and locations.
